In celebration of bicycling, sustainable travel, and community, author Heidi Beierle will share sustainable and slow travel themes from her memoir, Heidi Across America - One Woman’s Journey on a Bicycle Through the Heartland. Beierle will be joined by local writer and community organizer Carolyne Whelan to discuss how bicycling and other forms of slow travel grow community, benefit the environment, and make it easier for everyone to reach the places they need and want to go. A travel memoir and hero’s journey, Heidi Across America tells the story of Beierle’s solo bicycle ride from Eugene, Oregon, to a historic roads conference in Washington. Join us to discuss slow and sustainable travel!
