Missoula indie pop band Beau Akimbo began in 2020 as a songwriting partnership between singer Margi Cates and guitarist Nick Barr. Joined by bassist Ryan Davis and drummer Jake Ransom, the group released its debut album, *Spark Bird*, on October 24, 2024.
A downtown bar and grill with real labor roots: Marcus Daly donated the land for the original Union Hall in 1896, and the club dates to 1908. Open every day 11am to 2am, live music every Friday and Saturday, usually no cover. Weeknights rotate karaoke, trivia, and DJ sets, and the bookings run wide, funk and soul one weekend, honky-tonk or a cover band the next.
